Our first major trip with our infant son was so overwhelming that, looking back, it’s almost comical. When he was all of six weeks old, we embarked on a journey that would eventually log over 1,600 miles. Our entourage included a chubby (and very hot) golden retriever, our newborn Adyn, two anxious rookie parents, and all our earthly possessions packed in a 1965 Chevy Sportsvan heading on a two-day trip from West Virginia to Florida. We left for our trek in two vehicles. We had effectively utilized every square inch of space in and on both vehicles to maximize our luggage potential. We were set. Ready to roll. We were up for challenges on the open road, and ready to conquer this next test as newbie parents. That is, until the trip actually began.

Thus our family-style traveling was initiated and I began my quest to help others not only to survive, but also to thrive while traveling with babies and toddlers. I scoured the book shelves for informative guides but unfortunately most books only deal with children, giving a small chapter toward this unique age group. I learned so many things the "hard way" that I was inspired to compile this tested advice into a book that inspires families of children four and under to be able to bond and travel at the same time!
